When John and Sarah came to us in the spring of 2019, looking for help with their kitchen extension in Muswell Hill of their five-bedroom house into the home they always dreamt it could be, we were delighted to rise to the challenge. The budget seemed reasonable for their plans, and their plans looked achievable; however, our primary challenge on this build was the sheer expanse of steel required to support the new spacious extension to the property. Luckily, we have an exceptional team of engineers to call upon.
John and Sarah had purchased the property in Muswell Hill, knowing that much needed to be done to the décor, the style and the flow of the house. They needed more room and, most importantly, a new kitchen-dining-living space that would be grand enough to entertain in but cosy enough to be their home's central 'hub'. The whole home renovation project took six months through the spring and summer of 2019.

So, when John and Sarah’s project required us to strip back the entire three-storey property to brickwork and renovate from the floor up, to demolish an existing rear house extension and design and build an entirely new expansive ultra-modern one, to complete the project to a refined finish and to turn their garden into an entertaining space to die for.
John and Sarah’s Muswell Hill property had already been extended upwards into the loft and outwards into the garden by other local builders in Muswell HIll, but it was decided that a clean slate approach should be taken so everything was stripped back to bare walls and re-plastered, redecorated and refurnished. New lighting, bathrooms, flooring and décor, all finished to the highest of standards. The old rear house extension was demolished and a new 4m by 10m extension built to house the kitchen and dining room, a vast open space with skylights and massive bi-fold doors to flood it with natural light and to create a flow between a new sumptuous interior and a stunning outside area with a beautifully designed built-in barbeque and entertaining area.
Every wall in the property was plastered and redecorated in chic neutral tones to allow the steel, wood, tile, glass and crystal finishes in each room to shine. New Lusso Stone bathrooms were installed, lighting from Lee Brown and hand-made stained-glass windows brought in from studios in Wales.
The focal point of the home though, and the pièce de résistance of our house refurbishment project, was the spacious kitchen diner extension. For this, a unique hand-crafted royal blue New Classic Kitchen from luxury kitchen specialists Martin Moore was selected, fashioned and installed with brass handles to match the lighting hung over the starkly contrasting white granite worktops.
